A revised edition of Good Morning, Kimchi!, one of Hollym’s best-selling books, has been released. It introduces 40 different kinds of traditional and fusion kimchi recipes carefully selected by Professor Yoon Sook-ja, a master of traditional Korean food. Part one contains explanations on the history and types of kimchi, ingredients, storage methods, utensils, and so on. Part two introduces 20 each recipes for traditional and fusion kimchi that contain the know-how of the author, the CEO of the Institute of Traditional Korean Food. This book will be the first step toward discovering the charm of Korean kimchi.

About the Author

Yoon Sook-ja won her Ph.D. from Dankook University in Nutrition. She has been active in teaching, researching and propagating Korean cuisine from her early times. She taught at Baewha Women’s College and is currently engaged, as the dynamic and energetic director, in operating the Institute of Traditional Korean Food. She is also active in doing research and rediscovering many traditional Korean recipes which have been lost or in oblivion.

She is never hesitant but rather enthusiastic, in informing the Korean public as well as foreigners residing or just traveling in Korea on Korean cuisine, often appearing in various newspapers and journals and on TVs to reintroduce traditional Korean food, especially desserts and kimchi and rice cake, tteok. Prof. Yoon works closely with research organizations in Korea, and the Ministries of Agriculture and Forestry, and Culture Information to help people cherish the tradition of Korean food culture and mores.
