대한제국 애국가를 만든 프란츠 에케르트의 생애와 활동을 조명 『프란츠 에케르트』. 프로이센 출신의 지휘자인 프란츠 에케르트는 19세기 말부터 20세기 초까지 한국과 일본에 독일 취주악을 전수한 개척자이자 독일 문화를 먼 동양에 전해준 중요한 인물 중 한 명이다. 그는 해군 군악대원으로 활동하다 주일 독일명예영사의 알선으로 일본으로 가서 일본 국가인‘기미가요’의 작곡 선정위원이 되었고, 1901년 대한제국 정부의 초청으로 조선에 들어와 양악대를 창설하였으며, 우리나라 최초의 국가인 ‘대한제국 애국가’를 작곡했다. 이 책은 전체 3부로 구성되어 있다. 1부는 프란츠 에케르트의 일대기로 역사적 사실과 그의 일대기적인 자료를 우선시하여 그의 생애와 활동을 재구성하였고 2부는 에케르트의 자녀들과 그들의 배우자들에게 바치는 내용이며 3부는 에케르트의 장녀인 아말리에가 직접 쓴 회고록으로 한국에서 보낸 51년의 생활과 그의 생애 전체를 회상하며 기록한 내용으로 처음으로 출판되는 귀중한 자료이다.

About This Book The 100 keywords for this book have been selected through several rounds of surveys with the students at the Korean Cultural Center in Paris, France. The 100 facts address extensive sectors. The facts have been selected because they not only help French and global learners have an overall understanding of the state of Korea, but also represent the background knowledge necessary to study essential words and grammar in learning Korean from various aspects including culture, history, tradition and society. The 100 keywords thus chosen serve as the topic of each subject. This book has a total of 100 subjects, largely divided in six themes so that learners can easily search the subject they would like to know.
